Welcome in beautiful Uitgeest!

Mrs. Mieke Baltus on the shore of Lake Uitgeest
Mrs. Mieke Baltus, mayor of Uitgeest, on the shore of Lake Uitgeest (Uitgeestermeer).

Dear visitors of Uitgeest,

Wether you are only visiting this website or actually visiting our beautiful village, as the mayor of Uitgeest I wish you a full-hearted welcome. Uitgeest has got a lot to offer to visitors who are looking for an originally Dutch type of countryside. The landscape of the 'polders' and the shore of 'Lake Uitgeest' can easily be explored by foot, on a rented bycicle or even by canoe. And what about sailing the peaceful waters of the lake?
And when you are tired of walking the centre of Amsterdam (less than half an hour by train from the Uitgeest Railway Station!) the peaceful centre of our authentic village has got some 17th century buildings for you in store. In the centre as well as on the shore of the lake are cafés and restaurants to accommodate you. There are some small camping sites near the lake and in the vicinity of Uitgeest (in Akersloot) is a large family hotel.
In the lobby of our our Town Hall at the Middelweg 28 you may find various brochures and flyers on things to do and places to go in and near Uitgeest. Some of them are partly written in English. Our staff at the counter are always at your service during opening hours.

Visitors of this website that cannot find or understand what they are looking for can contact us through e-mail: communicatie@uitgeest.nl

Uitgeest is looking forward to meet you. I wish you a very pleasant stay.

Mieke Baltus,
Mayor of Uitgeest
